How much should I expect to pay for my catering?

The price of a Maiergrill catering arrangement per person depends heavily on your individual wishes. The staging options range from simple / casual to very sophisticated / top class. We will be happy to provide you with a detailed price list based on your quotation request. You can then still decide which services and modules you would like to book. Below you will find the most important influencing factors for the individual catering services as well as realistic guide prices based on our experience to give you an initial idea.

Meal price:

CHF 15 to CHF 100

The most important factors influencing the price of your catering meal are: How exclusive should the selection of meat, fish and seafood be (chicken breast & veal cippolata vs. beef fillet, crayfish tails & scallops)? How long does the feast last? How wide should the selection on a buffet be?

Price of drinks:

CHF 10 to CHF 100

Alcoholic beverages are particularly expensive and their consumption depends heavily on the time and reason for the party. Day of the week? Time of day? How formal (customer event vs. staff dinner)? Composition of the guests? Duration (2h or 8h = triple the amount)? More choice = more bottles opened. Wine selection?

Service price:

We show the costs for the service in detail and invoice them according to actual expenditure. The most important influencing factors are How high the service level should be (everything served at the table vs. mixed with buffet or only cooking and self-service or even our do it yourself catering solution, where no service costs are incurred at all).

Price tableware and decoration:

The factors influencing the cost of tableware and decoration are: How many courses are served? What kind of table linen will be used (disposable vs. fabric)? What kind of tableware and glassware quality do you want (elegant classic to designer top class)? Are the decorative elements reusable?

Infrastructure price:

CHF 5 to CHF 20

The minimum flat rate already includes a Maiergrill and a buffet on wheels, packed with bowls, service cutlery and numerous small items that are helpful for the successful realization of the event (cable ties, safety pins, etc.). From 20 to 60 guests, this decreases and then remains constant.

Furniture price:

CHF 0 to CHF 50

Most event locations are already equipped with furniture, so the only question that remains is whether you want to set an accent with chair covers and additional lighting, for example. We are happy to supply you with everything from practical banquette sets, bar tables and round tables of 10 with comfortable chairs to a marquee.

And what else is involved?

As much as you want! You create uniqueness with your event and you decide what you want to offer your guests. Wonderful entertainment elements, original giveaways, shuttle service, cigar lounge, team building, ... Together with our partner network, we realize your ideas and, if necessary, bring you back down to earth.

And what does the total price of my catering look like now?

It depends: CHF 30 to over CHF 500 per person, if we now simply calculate the minimum do-it-yourself solution and the premium top-class maximum configuration based on our experience.

What is included in the price of your barbecue catering?

Our offers are customised and tailored to your needs. They generally include carefully selected food and drinks, the use of our smokeless barbecue, the necessary barbecue equipment and experienced service staff. Additional services such as crockery, cutlery, glasses, table linen, decorations, furniture, marquee and much more can be booked transparently as an option.

What information do you need to obtain a tailor-made offer?

For a precise and tailored offer, we need to know the event (private/business), the desired date and time, the exact location of the event, the number of guests expected (including children and people with allergies/intolerances) as well as your specific wishes and ideas regarding the menu and proceedings.

How far in advance should I book my barbecue event catering with you?

We recommend booking your desired date as early as possible, especially for weddings and large events, which should ideally be booked 4-12 months in advance. For corporate events, the lead time is often shorter.

>Requests at short notice are also possible, depending on availability. We recommend booking as soon as your event date has been finalised.

How long does it take until I receive your catering offer?

We usually contact you by telephone to analyse your requirements in detail, advise you and gather all the necessary information. We then draw up a detailed offer tailored to your event and the event location. Especially for large or particularly demanding events, we discuss the concept internally as a team to ensure that you benefit optimally from our experience. We will then send you our offer, usually within 24 hours, so that you can proceed with your event planning quickly and efficiently.

How are the costs of event catering made up?

For a full-service event catering for a company event with 100 guests with barbecues à discrétion, a simple aperitif at 6 pm, a main course buffet at 7 pm and a dessert served at the table and flambéed at 9 pm, including drinks with an event manager, two event assistants and three service crew members, i.e. a total of 6 competent employees who take care of your well-being and the well-being of your guests, in an easily accessible event location within an 80 km radius of one of our locations, we charge around CHF 105. - per person excluding VAT and CHF 114 including 8.1 % VAT.

You can therefore expect a total price of around CHF 10,500 excluding VAT.

In our detailed offer you will find the following approximate breakdown of costs:

56 % food & beverage

21 % infrastructure hire for barbecue, buffets, buffet tents, crockery (plates, cutlery, glasses, coffee cups)

20 % Staff costs

3 % Transport and logistics

= 100% costs

Depending on the desired service level and selection of food and drinks, the effective price may be less or more. In any case, the distance to your event location only has a very small influence on the total price. This is because the logistics costs are primarily determined by the loading and unloading for the outward journey and the loading and unloading for the return journey. This part remains exactly the same, regardless of whether your event takes place within a radius of 1 KM or 100 KM from one of our logistics centres.

Why should I fill out the inquiry form when I could just as easily call?

Of course we are happy to receive any form of contact and during our office hours we are also happy to receive your enquiry by telephone. However, the enquiry form has several advantages:

1. the information you provide in the form regarding the type, location and size of the event allows us to allocate the enquiry to the most suitable event coordinator straight away.

2. the event coordinator can optimise his or her response to your wishes before contacting you.

3. they plan the call in such a way that they can take the time to give you comprehensive advice.

As all our event coordinators are also regularly deployed as event managers themselves, it can happen that we are all travelling. Our enquiry form, on the other hand, is available 24/7.

How do I pay for your catering service?

Once your event has been confirmed, a deposit is due to secure your date. You can then pay the balance conveniently by invoice after your event has taken place. The exact payment modalities and deadlines are specified in detail in your offer and contract.

What are your cancellation conditions?

Our detailed cancellation conditions are listed transparently in your individual offer and contract. As a rule, cancellation is possible with a minimum processing fee up to a certain period before the event, after which staggered fees apply depending on the exact time of cancellation.

Are you insured and licensed?

Yes, Maiergrill AG and Maiergrill (Romandie) SA are fully licensed and insured, including comprehensive product and liability insurance. All our staff are also covered by industrial accident insurance to guarantee you maximum safety and professionalism at every event.
