Elgg Castle, on whose grounds the Zehntenhaus stands, was first mentioned in the history books in 1166 AD and is one of the most original castles in Europe. The Zehntehaus was gently renovated at the beginning of 2020 and opened to the public as a premium event location with a stylish ballroom, a unique vaulted cellar and a unique outdoor area. Perfect for corporate and private events, as well as a meeting location for seminars and conferences with 5 to 100 guests where value is placed on a fascinating atmosphere combined with a unique experience.

Stylish ballroom
Directly connected to the front garden is the ballroom, perfect for: Small groups, aperitifs, seminars, workshops and meetings. The high walls, the original grain storage basin and the perfectly preserved staircase from the 17th century are impressive. Floor plans
Unique vaulted cellar
The vaulted cellar with its original clay brick floor can accommodate 50 guests very comfortably. The perfectly symmetrical round arches with a room height of over 3.50 m lend the room charm and class.

Fascinating outdoor area
In the garden area in front of the Zehntenhaus and under the chestnut grove, there is space to hold the wedding ceremony, aperitif and even dinner at the long table with a view of the castle when the weather is fine.

The written history of Elgg Castle dates back to 1166 and bears witness to eventful eras. The Werdmüller family refers to the origin of the miller on the Werdinsel in the city of Zurich. All the buildings are highly protected and unique in their age and quality. Historical documentation
