The adventure of this ambitious company began with a little anecdote. In 1994, Urs Maier burnt his meat and once again smoked his guests at a village fete. Fed up, he set about developing a prototype barbecue that was unique on the market, revolutionary because it emitted neither smoke nor odour. It was a first. Two years later, he and his nephew founded Maiergrill SA. Today, with 150 employees across Switzerland, the family business has grown considerably. As well as renting out its patented invention, it has moved enthusiastically into a field of activity that it is passionate about: catering. And it's all based around the theme of grilled meats.


Relying on difference

Galvanised by original concepts, such as the 100% customisable à la carte brochettes, Maiergrill employees travel the country to create the most daring sulinary performances. By way of example, the team has already organised barbecues under a circus tent, in an igloo at over 2,000 metres and in the foyer of the Stravinsky auditorium in Montreux, with the added bonus of the fire brigade's approval of the smokeless grill, which can be used safely indoors. A bit of an adventurer, always on the lookout for new challenges, Maiergrill organised the biggest winter barbecue in the Forum-Fribourg hall in 2011, as well as a lunchtime service for 2,500 people in 2004. Unique performances like the 147 Road Shows, lunches for workers in front of shopping centres, scattered around twenty locations in Switzerland.


Withpanache, the company adapts to the needs of its customers, creating unforgettable meals managed by top-notch staff. Each member of staff is introduced to the catering profession step by step, and undergoes specific training to acquire the know-how required for a high-quality catering service: communication with guests, recipes, hygiene, logistics, rhetoric and event management. Our efficient staff are perfectly equipped to put together the perfect setting, ideal for private receptions such as weddings or birthdays, but also for corporate evenings.


From human to human, added value

Barbecues, a symbol of conviviality and relaxation, are an ingenious way of encouraging people to get together, not least within an organisation. Oiled by many years of experience, Maiergrill has devised its original "grill à la minute" formula to increase exchanges in a warm atmosphere. This type of event is perfect for relaxed team-building activities. The participative aspect encourages human contact, one of the pillars of the company's philosophy. After all, the Maiergrill concept is all about people-to-people contact.
